Nate Mihelis

Journey Elder

My name is Nate Mihelis, I’ve been a Christian for a little over 30 years. Dawn and I are high school sweethearts and have been happily married for 22 years and we have two wonderful children - Noah and Sophia. I love "I wish to thank the Elders for their thoughtful consideration of my request that an American Flag fly at our church with enhanced landscaping, and those who donated toward this project.  A special thank you to Jay, who did the heavy work of preparing the spot and being at church on May 2nd for the flag installation.  THANK YOU.” Janice Crawford. the bible and helping people. At the core of what I believe are two truths: 1) God is absolutely sovereign; He has the power and the authority to do whatever He pleases; and 2) He is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.

Jay Winters

Journey Elder

My name is Jay Winters, and along with my wife Judy, we began attending Journey Church on a part-time basis in 2011 while we were still living full-time in Massachusetts as weekenders. We were longtime residents of Andover, Massachusetts, where we raised our three now-adult children. We are blessed with ten grandchildren who mean the world to us.

Before retiring, I worked as a manufacturing manager, and Judy was a public school teacher. After retirement, we moved full-time to Conway in 2014 and have been very active in the church ever since. I firmly believe that the Lord directed us to Journey Church, and we continue to pray for His guidance in all areas of our lives.

Joe Williams

Journey Elder

I was raised in a Christian family in the suburbs of Chicago. While I had an awareness of God throughout my childhood, it wasn’t until attending a youth conference in high school that I truly surrendered my life to Jesus and came to know His love personally. Since that moment, my faith journey has been marked by learning to rest in the grace of Christ rather than striving to earn His acceptance—something I had unknowingly spent many years attempting to do.

After college, I married my wonderful wife, Amy, joined the Army, and pursued a career in medicine, completing both medical school and residency. These life chapters took us to various parts of the country, where we had the privilege of serving in a number of churches across different denominations. Along the way, God graciously blessed us with five beautiful children.

In May 2020, God unmistakably called our family to the Mount Washington Valley, which also happens to be where Amy grew up. Since arriving, it has been an incredible blessing to witness God’s faithfulness to Journey Church and to be part of what He is doing in this community. I am truly excited to see how God will continue to work in the years ahead and am deeply grateful to be a part of His mission here.

Austin Woodward

Journey Elder

My name is Austin Woodward.  Heather, our 5 boys, and I have been attending Journey church since 2014. I first visited Journey because I heard that the word was preached without compromise. For me, that is number one in any church that I would become a member of. I believe God has given me a passion to come along the side other men specifically to help disciple but at the same time be discipled. I’m in a period of my life right now where prayers have become so much more important to me, but also to the men’s group as a whole. To see the growth in men because of prayer has been amazing.

Chris Boewe

Journey Elder

My name is Chris Boewe. My wife Julie and I and our eight kids have been attending the Journey Church since 2020. Julie and I recently became members of the church, and I have followed her lead into helping with various children's ministry projects.

Throughout my life God has granted me many opportunities to serve high-school youth through the Christian Youth Conference at Ocean Park Maine, and the Lifebridge mentoring program, as well as leading the youth group at the Madison Baptist church.

Most of my free time is spent following my children to their various activities but when I do get a little time I love being outdoors hunting and fishing with family.
